Your mission

About the Role
We are a fast-growing AI startup based in Rostock, Germany, and we are looking for a mid-level Project Manager with experience in software and AI-driven projects. In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders, developers, AI engineers, and student team members to translate business objectives into structured project plans and ensure smooth delivery. You will have the opportunity to shape processes, take ownership, and grow with the company in a dynamic startup environment.


Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and deliver software and AI development projects end-to-end
  • Lead and coordinate a team of approximately 10 developers, AI developers, and student contributors
  • Collect objectives and requirements from stakeholders and translate them into clear, actionable tasks
  • Create, prioritize, and track epics, stories, and tasks using Jira
  • Maintain high-quality project documentation in Confluence
  • Monitor progress, dependencies, and risks; identify bottlenecks and proactively resolve issues
  • Coordinate and follow up with different teams and individual contributors to ensure smooth execution
  • Plan, organize, and facilitate project meetings, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
  • Support and improve process management, workflows, and delivery standards
  • Ensure transparency, alignment, and effective communication across all stakeholders

Your profile

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Project Management, preferably in software or IT projects
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Project Management, or a related field
  • Strong experience with Jira and Confluence
  • Proven ability to create clear documentation and structured task breakdowns
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycles, ideally Agile/Scrum
  • Experience working with international and cross-functional teams
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written); German is a strong plus
Preferred Certifications & Knowledge
  • ITIL certification
  • CAPM or PMP certification
  • Familiarity with ISO frameworks (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 27001)
  • Experience in AI, data, or technology-driven environments is a plus

Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: Between €50,000 - 60,000 gross per year, negotiable based on profile and experience
